We have this neat video hub full of trailers from E3, but in case you're too lazy to look through it, here are a couple that I like:
Video Blips:
• Shouldn't the marketing team have gone with more period-appropriate music for this Call of Duty: Black Ops ad? Pshh, whatever! That Eminem guy is pretty popular right now.
After the break, you're likely to run into trailers for Gran Turismo 5, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Mortal Kombat -- plus a teaser for Patapon 3.
• It's been a long time coming, but I finally think that the Gran Turismo series is ready to overtake real life as far as detailed graphics go. Everything in this trailer looks solid except for the CGI designers near the end...they seem a bit too stiff.
• Is Kirby's yarn really all that epic? Maybe the designers mean "epic yarn" as in it's really long, which makes sense because "Kriby's Long Yarn" sounds kind of dumb and suggestive.
• At what point do the graphics in a violent game look so vivid that one could mistake it for an interactive snuff flick? Thankfully, Mortal Kombat takes the more over-the-top route, so we can worry about that uneasy question at a later time.
• Going off of this Patapon 3 teaser, it looks like the little creatures went off and started a heavy metal band. This marks the end of those cute "pata-pata-patapon" chants -- now, the game features throat screaming.
