Remember, Super Street Fighter 4 is an equal opportunity employer, as is evident by their growing diverse group of playable characters.

Video Blips:

• Here's a trailer showcasing the new fighters coming to Super Street Fighter 4. Do you think an alternate costume for inmate Cody will be the more contemporary orange jumpsuit? [GameVideos]

Continue after the break for the King of Fighters live action movie trailer, a mystery teaser for a new game premiering at the Video Game Awards 2009, and the trailer for a psychedelic racing game called Blur, not to be confused with the '90s rock group.

• Will this King of Fighters movie be the best fighting-game-to-movie adaptation ever? Possibly -- it's not like the live-action Street Fighter movie or DOA: Dead or Alive set the bar very high. [GameVideos]

• Spike TV has a bunch of "mystery game trailers" to promote the 2009 Video Game Awards. This one looks like a sequel to John Woo's Stranglehold (is that inspector Tequila?), but there aren't any shootouts with doves or babies, so we can't be certain. [GameTrailers]

• Blur has some pretty visual effects going on. Then again, it's like a bunch of cars with super powers that just look nice and don't do really anything. [GameTrailers]

I'm sorry but that King of Fighters trailer looks too stupid to be real. It doesn't even look like it be a straight to DVD release.

I love the Super Street Fighter 4 trailer though.

@Ryan Yeah, KoF looks pretty terrible. How come fighting games always get movies? I'd think it'd be easier to translate a game with a somewhat linear story arc than a game with a couple dozen different stories going on at once. Whatev.

Fighting games seem to be an easy way to push an action movie concept without breaking the bank on CG explosions and prop guns. The choreography looks passable but basing the story on the Rugal arc left no distinguishing feature or personality to the KOF series. Doing the 3-clans and the revival or Orochi from KOF 95-97 would have been a better choice...maybe.

@Daryl, but then they might have to, you know, hire more Asian-American actors.
