The second episode of Bitmob X-Com is up. Check it out!
X-Com -- the last line of defense against the alien menace. You are the brave men and women who will fight the invaders and drive them from our planet. The organization will arm you with rifles, heavy cannons, and bad language so that your courage knows no bounds. Suit up -- we’re going to war!
After my disappointment with last week's XCOM announcement from 2K, I asked the fine individuals who are a part of the Bitmob community to sign up for a game of X-Com: UFO Defense. Many of you responded to my call-to-arms, and this post is the first in a series of our exploits on the battlefield. Follow the whole adventure with the Bitmob X-Com tag.
But now, on with the game!
After selecting a base location, I queued up new structures: another living quarters, two general stores, a large radar system, and an alien containment facility. I put all these new buildings south of the access lift; eventually, I will move the hangers up to the north end of the base and demolish the living quarters to the right of the lift. Doing so will give us a defensive advantage during base raids.
After ordering new equipment for soldiers and crafts (I like to equip all Interceptors with avalanche missile launchers, since they provide the best range out of the human tech in the game), I hit the time-lapse key and wait for some activity. While the first UFO outruns our interceptors, we’re able to strike the second one.
Details of our first mission, which pits us outgunned and outnumbered against a foe in a significantly advantageous position, follow on page two. Myself, Jeremy LaMont, Daniel Fecteau, Alex Gagne, Tyler Doan, Kenn Quist, James DeRosa, and Nathan Vig compose our initial squad. Read on to find out if we survive to tell the tale!

And if you watch the video, Tyler totally got shot in the face!
