Bust-a-cake: When dessert meets video games

Here’s a fun twist on your typical Bubble Bobble scenario: Instead of the cute little dragon devouring all of the food he can get his comically small hands on, you eat him.

Inside, the top half consists of yellow cake with peanut butter and Nutella, and the bottom half has strawberries in place of the PB.

Bust-a-Move: Cake Edition

My girlfriend recently made this retro-themed dessert for a family party -- it was her first attempt at something so 3D.  “I used to love watching my brother and cousins play Bust-a-Move [another classic game staring the adorable bubble dragons] at the local Pizza Hut,” she explained to me. “It is probably one of my favorite video-game-related memories.”

I’d have to say that her creation is one of my favorite cake-related memories.

Hit the jump for a view of the dragon's backside (the tail is filled with Rice Krispies Treats).

Tell your girlfriend that's one amazing cake! It's actually like three cakes in one, which kinda blows my mind.

That's awesome! My girlfriend just made me a pre-birthday cake last night and I was very happy. We're lucky guys.
