First-Ever Footage of Metallica Pinball in Action

Team Bitmob drove up to Marin County this weekend to attend the Pacific Pinball Expo. Once there, we bobbed and weaved through hundreds of tables to get to the star of the show: a custom pinball table created for metal gods Metallica, making its first -- and very likely only -- public appearance.

The image to the right is of the machine's back glass art, which features a zombified version of the band.

Click "read more" to check out more pictures of the table as well as the first-ever footage of the game in action (well, the first video of it on YouTube, at least):

I'm not sure if it fully comes across in the video, but this table is blisteringly fast -- by far the fastest table at the expo. Fancy bump and catch tricks won't work well here. Hell, you're in trouble if you blink.

The color-changing, light-up plunger was a nice touch, as were the numerous songs from a little-known metal band called Metallica.

I left the table feeling spent and satisfied, the metal riffs blaring from the speakers still ringing in my ears. Congratulations to Wade Krause and his team for making some fantastic modifications to an Earthshaker pinball table.

Ahhh...my 2 of favorite things. Pinball and Metallica. What could be better? Pinball and Boobs?

freakin jealous!

I love pinball!

I really think it's sad to see so little arcades open in the UK. As for those that do exist, they need to a lot of TLC. Pinball such a great arcade to play and watch;D

Just curious, does the pinball machine also try to sue its fans?

@Jason: Just don't try to beat Lars's high score.
