Gourmet Gaming just introduced a difficulty scale for the various recipies they post. This Kingdom Hearts 2-inspired sea-salt ice cream (a treat popular with the Square Enix characters in the game) looks simple but, according to GG's scale, is fairly complex. 

Ingredients: 

1/2 vanilla pod

2 tablespoons high-quality sea salt flakes

1/2 cup milk

1/2 sugar

1 cup whipping/heavy cream

3 egg yolks

Blue food coloring

Ice

This recipe is a play on the sweet and salty dynamic that makes chocolate-covered bacon and salted peanut brittle so delicious. Unfortunately, I'll have to appreciate the tasty ideas in sea-salt ice cream from afar as that much pure vanilla bean could actually kill me....
