A lot of iconoclasts are jumping on the 3DS-is-failing bandwagon. I've got more ammo for them in today's blips. They've mostly been pointing to the fact that the 3DS is not selling out at retail. I don't know why the story wouldn't be, "Nintendo figures out their supply chain problems after the Wii." Haters gonna hate.

News Blips: 3DS sells 400,000 unitsNews Blips:

The 3DS sells nearly 400,000 while the DS sells 460,000 last month. The fact that the original DS is outselling the 3DS is causing many people to sound glum about the 3D handheld's outlook. Of course, Nintendo didn't release their auto-stereoscopic device until March 27, which only gave it five days of sales. The DS also enjoyed a much lower price point, its biggest game launch ever in Pokemon Black and White, and five weeks of sales (yes, five). The health of the system will be much clearer after (and if) we get April's numbers.

Sony opens their books slightly and shows that they have sold 50-million PlayStation 3 systems. Oh, hello there, fanboys. Today, my job is to give you a bunch of information to whine about on message boards. Sony's George Foreman grill reached the 50-million milestone. The system has really picked up its sales pace since the Slim was released. Just three months ago, Microsoft announced that they had reached the same marker. Nintendo's Wii hit that mark in July of 2009. Now, go -- and flame each other with great asshatery! [1UP]

Sony has also revealed that they've pushed through 8 million PlayStation Moves. This is tricky. First, Sony is only divulging how many they've shipped to retailers. Second, how do you count the number of Move devices that've been sold? They are shipped in pieces. If I had to wager a guess -- and I don't have to, but these are my damned blips -- Sony is counting each wand controller as one Move unit shipped. Now, how proud are you that I didn't lead this blip with "Sony MOVES 8 million Moves"?

For a handheld touted as being SOOOO innovative, it would have better sales, don't you think?

Nintendo screwed up again, I honestly see this thing being the Virtual Boy 2, in terms of success...

George Foreman grill. Ah, the memories of new generation fuss and the cheesy epithets that come with it.

My personal favorite was, "What happens when you do a 360? You're in the exact same place you were before!"

Your self control is masterful, and I can't help but think that those Move numbers are as misleading as it's price point.
