Many fans have been waiting for this announcement for a long time and a few probably thought it wasn't coming at all. Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, an expansion to Super Street Fighter IV that has been exclusive to Japan as an arcade machine, is coming soon to consoles as DLC.

A trailer, most likely from Capcom's Captivate event, has been leaked confirming the DLC which not only includes 4 new characters but a host of new features for the console version.

Along with new characters Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni Akuma, the whole current character roster has had their moves rebalanced, keeping the meta-game fresh. The Replay Channel will also be getting upgrades with the ability to send replays to other people, follow other player's replays (think twitter for fight fanatics), and a new "Elite" replay channel to watch replays of people with more then 3000 PP. In other words, they're good.

The trailer is being pulled off Youtube quickly, so good luck finding any leftovers.

I haven't played SSFIV in months. But it's always been a good experience for me unlike Marvel Vs. Capcom 3's wild but inconsistent pace. I'll be going back to SSFIV when it upgrades even if my main, Rufus, has been nerfed. How about you guys?

I've seen the trailer, and I want to know how playing with others who don't have AE DLC will work out. The trailer says "Get out there and duke it out with the version you like best," which is either a bad translation or suggests you can switch between AE and Super versions of the characters ala the Old and New characters in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

I don't know what to think if it if it's the latter. On one hand I think my main Rose was unfairly nerfed in AE, and we would finally see if the "don't nerf the best/ just buff the worst" mentaility that a lot of players have when it comes to balance would actually work since presumably everyone will be using the version of their character that's stronger. On the other hand, newer players won't have a clue as to what any of this stuff means, and if version-switching is allowed in tournaments arcades are left in the cold again. We'll see if it's true or if it just means everyone will get AE balance regardless if they get the rest of the DLC.
