We have gameplay footage Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night. Awesome!

Video Blips:

• Castlevania Puzzle looks like it has the feel of Symphony of the Night but with competitive, gem-matching puzzle gameplay. Something about that concept is really inviting yet mind-boggling.

Continue after the break for a peak at the new kind of instruments in music game Power Gig, a thrilling Enslaved: Odyssey to the West trailer, the debut of the U.S. version of Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, and a pitch for, hopefully, a new Mortal Kombat movie.

• Seven 45 Studios VP of Marketing Jeff Walker talks about the more-realistic drumming experience Power Gig offers compared to other music-games. He means that you won't hear "clack clack clack clack" when someone plays drums anymore. Woo hoo! [GameTrailers]

• Wait, Enslaved's main character, Monkey, claims that no one ever told the killer robots that the war was over? Couldn't he just do that and make his journey a lot less complicated? [GameVideos]

• Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies is a kid-safe MMO, since instead of playing with an entire open world of strangers, you just play with a couple friends online. I'm sure, however, that that does little to curb its additive nature. [GameTrailers]

• Before you get too excited, this is only a director's pitch to Warner Bros. for a new Mortal Kombat movie. Movie studios are understandably worried after the last installment left audiences looking like baby Reptile in this video -- that is, with inside-out eyeballs. [GameVideos]

I wonder what the puzzling equivalent of Shield Rob plus Alucard Shield is....

@Alejandro If you have the shield rod, you can press square and circle at the same time to activate a power for every shield in the game that's unique. In the case of the Alucard Shield, this ability is ridiculous. When you hold out the shield, it hits for 255 damage at the rate of most in-game machine guns. OK...well, it also gives you 8 life and a heart whenever it hits, which as mentioned is at the rate of a machine gun. Crazy right?

Oh wait....the life regen has a sort of light-flicker animation. While that animation is happening (at a reset rate of...I don't know...20 times a second) you're invulnerable. Basically, you can just jump inside an enemy and stand there.

With the Shield Rod and the Alucard Shield, you can kill the final form of Dracula in about two seconds. You can also kill Galamoth, the hardest enemy in the game, in about five seconds.

Here's a video of it:

He uses the ability at 1:04.
