Video Blips: Fear 3, The Old Republic, Earthworm Jim, and More

This live-action trailer for Fear 3 only proves that anyone can be a hero (or an anti-hero) by the might of post-processing effects.

Video Blips:

• The villainous Paxton Fettel has a few words to say about death. The man is a telekinetic powerhouse, and he decides to off an anonymous soldier with a grenade? How underwhelming.

Continue after the break for a midi-chlorian boosting look at the Sith Warrior in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a re-vamp of Earthworm Jim, and a trailer for the fan-made Super Mario Bros. X.

• The Sith Warrior represents the beating heart of the Empire in Star Wars: The Old Republic. This video is so convincing, I almost forgot that there will be other classes. Sith mind domination at play, I suspect. [GameTrailers]

• Gameloft brings back a '90s classic with this upgraded version of Earthworm Jim. Jetpack grandmas and keyboard cats are a riot, to be sure -- but who sneezed on the voice acting? [YouTube]

• The aspiring Super Mario Bros. X project delivers a unique angle on the time-honored platformer. A Metroid-themed level complete with theme song and Bullet Bill cannon? Yes, please. [GameVideos]

For some reason my brain sees a running tally of how much money is being put into the FEAR 3 spot instead of actually making the game the whole time it plays.

My guess: Too much.

Those fire effects SUCK!
