90-Minute Live Action Mega Man Film Debuts

If you consider the comments concerning Street Fighter: Legacy made on my last article, one thing is clear: Making a low-budget feature film isn't easy. But if you compound the inherent difficulty with high expectations, alarmist Internet viewers, and meek revenue prospects, you have a challenge that few filmmakers can surmount.

After completing and releasing a feature-length, pro bono Mega Man film, Eddie LeBron has proven his mettle as a filmmaker. Clocking in at 93 minutes, "Mega Man" tells the renowned story of Dr. Thomas Light, Dr. Albert Wily (pictured below), and the androids they create.

If you're a long-time fan of the Blue Bomber or just interested in seeing a film based on a popular video-game license, check out LeBron's creation by clicking the image above. Unfortunately, I haven't found the time to see Mega Man yet, so I'll reserve judgment...for now [via ScrewAttack].

I have to say, I'm excited to watch this. Preparing for the worst though.

30 minutes in and so far, the only thing I've learned is that all Asians are robots. It's definitely cheesy, but I'm kind of liking it.

I saw the trailer for this awhile back. I can definitely dig this.

It actually was pretty good. Faithful to the canon for the most part. Wily really carried it. Ironically (after the comments on the Street Fighter short film at least,) this one might have been a little too long.

Yeh Wily's performance was actually awesome.  It was like, the perfect balance of cheesy and serious.

Mostly good. Thing is, if Hollywood had made this film we would have said it was horrible. The script was ridiculously cliched and cheesy. At least we would have had a big budget and cool robots if it wasn't fan made.

The script could have used some work, and it could have moved at a quicker pace. Also the foley work was downright terrible. No sense of impact or power behind anything. Yellow Devil should be thumping hard with every step.
