EDITOR'S NOTEfrom

Yes, you just read that!

Mega Man Legends 3 has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS. The news is already spreading across video game lovers' twitter accounts faster than the Reploid Virus infects poor robots in a Mega Man X game.

I'm back, baby!

For anyone who doesn't know, the Mega Man Legends series is only topped in terms of sheer quality by the old 8-bit versions of the Blue Bomber. The two titles are adventure games for the PlayStation 1 (the first title was also released on the Nintendo 64 as Mega Man 64).

For anyone who has played the series, this is great news. For anyone who hasn't played the series, get on that straight away! The Misadventures of Tron Bonne -- another great, though vastly different, title -- stemmed from the Legends series. It's also worth mentioning that the lovable Servbots became insanely popular thanks to all three titles.

Evil Servbot is happy to welcome back Legends!

Here is a link to the sparse information released so far, and an interview with Mega Man's papa, Keiji Inafune!

Too bad the graphics engine used in Lost Planet won't be giving us the best looking Mega Man game to date. It's a shame too since, according to James Mielke, it was created by the same guy who was the main programmer for Legends.

Honestly though, just the fact that the cliffhanger ending in Mega Man Legends 2 will finally -- finally -- be resolved is enough to make me hum old Mega Man tunes and do the happy dance!

I wonder how the reception of this 3rd instalment will be since it's well over due. I don't think the previous games were well received as successful. Than again GTA3 overshadowed its predecessors.
