Thursday, June 03, 2010

Even though they are fictional characters, I’m sure some gamers have felt an attachment to a female video game character, whether it’s an attraction to her physical appearance or an attachment to her character and personality. We all have our own preferences of appearance and personality when it comes to females. This week’s Top 5 is all about showing different types of female game characters and who I think are the hottest girls.

#5

Princess Zelda (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)

Princess Zelda is the sophisticated and proper type. These traits come natural to her since she is descended from royal blood. Her loyalty to Hyrule Castle is strong and this is shown in Twilight Princess when she heals Midna because she knows Midna, along with Link, is the key to saving Hyrule. She is the perfect girl to bring home in hopes of impressing your mom with your ability to find a decent, respectable woman.

#4

Lulu (Final Fantasy X)

Lulu is the dark and gloomy type. She has great style in clothing which reflects her personality as somewhat of a rebel. Her rebellious side is shown as she questions the Yevon religion. This black mage has devoted herself to becoming a guardian to Summoners on a pilgrimage to destroy the creature Sin. Her past has been rough since she’s seen one of these Summoners die. With her devotion as a guardian, Lulu is perfect for contributing to the safety of the world.

#3

Faith Connor (Mirror’s Edge)

Faith Connor is the tough badass type. Being a constantly moving “Runner”, she stays in shape. Coming from a family of protestors, rebellion is encoded in her genetics, and this is shown as she beats a lot of ass, and goes against the law in order to unveil clues to a murder that her sister is being framed for. Considering her physical condition, Faith is perfect for her body, but be careful what you say to her, she might kick your ass.

#2

Rinoa (Final Fantasy VIII)

Rinoa is the cute and innocent type. Innocence is only in her appearance since she isn’t afraid to fight alongside a resistance group trying to stop the invasion of Timber from the Galbadian army, which is commanded by her father. She obviously likes to have fun considering we are introduced to her at a dance. Rinoa is the perfect girl for tricking your friends into thinking you found someone innocent only to find out she is more independent than she seems.

#1

Poison Ivy (Batman: Arkham Asylum)

Poison Ivy is the sexy and gorgeous type. We encounter Poison Ivy while she is trapped in a glass cell. Wearing revealing clothing, she uses her seductive voice and sexual innuendos to try to influence Batman to let her free. She is an earthy nature chick who has a connection to plant-life. Poison Ivy is the perfect girl to appreciate for her sexy body and her apparent experience with all things pleasurable.

No Dead Or Alive girls?  Not a big fan of fighting games are ya?

No I'm not really a fan of fighting games. Plus none of these girls I've seen in fighting games stand out.

I submit, for your approval: Chun-li (first lady of fighting games), Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy  from Mass Effect (the mysterious, masked beauty), and Sheena Fujibayashi from Tales of Symphonia (ninja with a heart of gold).

While working on this comment,  I realized a lot of my possible ideas did come from fighting games and whittled it down to these to stop from being cliche. Though those girls from DOA are hot, they are unbearably one-dimensional to me.

A Lulu fan, eh? I prefer Yuna, but she reminds me of someone I used to know, so I might be projecting an external image on her.

I always liked Zoe and April from the Longest Journey games, too.

I applaud you for not picking any DOA girls -- I find most of them repulsive.

Poison Ivy was a great choice for #1. Harley Quinn could be on this list, too. One of the best lines from Joker was when Harley and Ivy were arguing and he said, "I could watch those two all day!"

I still stand by that Rinoa is one of the worst characters of any game ever made...ever. Whine, whine -- magic -- whine, whine -- kiss -- whine, whine....eject disc and commence frisbee game.
