Four different Super Mario Bros. games beaten simultaneously
Mikeminotti-biopic

Impressive...most impressive. I've seen my share of speed runs, but never four of them running off of the same input. Specifically, four Super Mario Bros. games -- Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels -- being run from one ROM. When one Mario jumps, they all jump. I still can't fathom how this works, even with hacks and tricks involved, but it makes for some entertaining viewing. You can find more details on this "quad-run" at TASVideos.

I'm not sure if I would say this works....

Mike - Your description isn't entirely accurate. They don't all always jump at the same time. He used hacks to prevent movement and/or jumping when holding down certain combinations of buttons on the controller or pressing buttons in certain ways. They're not truly synced.

You remember when you were a kid and your parents somehow found the sound of old, 8-bit games obnoxious enough to force you to turn the volume down, or sometimes mute the game entirely?

I now understand their plight.

Tiny correction: it's four separate ROMs being controlled by a single set of commands. He then recorded all four movies into one video clip, as seen above. If you like this, you might also like this Mega Man quad movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5pz6waED0w

Well, it's not quite in sync, but I see how this works. Argh, I can't believe someone took the time to use a single string of controller movements to...

My head hurts...
