The shots of the Nintendo 3DS system included in this software-lineup video are borderline technology porn.

Video Blips:

• How impressive can a Nintendo 3DS game montage be when you can't view the titles in their 3D glory? Judging by the quality and diversity of titles, pretty damn impressive.

Continue after the break for the Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition trailer, a stylish preview of the new Borderlands downloadable content, Claptrap's New Robot Revolution, and a peak at the frightening world of F.E.A.R. 3's Almaverse.

• Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition has a couple of new features that make finding opponents (or new friends) in real life much easier and more social. Consider it a 21st-century ice breaker for socially awkward gamers.

• Borderlands' story of Claptrap's New Robot Revolution is one we should all pay close attention to. Enjoy the awesome puppet-show visuals, but also heed the warning that we should program our robots of the future to specifically not rebel.

• I don't know about you, but F.E.A.R. 3's Almaverse isn't somewhere I particularly want to be. I can handle fighting off hordes of monsters, but dueling monsters who are also on fire? That's where I draw the line. [GameVideos]

I feel kinda dirty.  I've been trash-talking the 3DS since the DS XL just came out, but the games lineup looks pretty varied, interesting and ...gosh, impressive.  I can't believe that was Resident Evil playing on a DS.  Crazy.

$300's still pretty steep for a hand-held.  That could really suck for sales.  Guess we'll have to see.

The Wii originally launched at 25,000 Yen in Japan, so hopefully the US market price for the 3DS will be closer to 250 than 300.  Wish it was going to be here sooner and cheaper, but for the gosh-darn magic show of a system that it promises to be, I can wait and pay, and I will.

@Bryan and Jon, I agree that $300 is pretty steep for the 3DS, but the features and quality of software seem to justify the price. For me, I think of that time the Sony president said something like people will want the PS3 bad enough that they'll get a second job and save up their money.

That's absolutely ridiculous.  I might write blogs for money for a PS3.  I won't subject myself to TWO fast food commitments.  Not until that PS2 add-on comes out.

@Bryan, sorry, I meant I would consider working two jobs to afford a Nintendo 3DS.
