The Bitmob Reviews Spotlight returns with another dose of Brian Shirk reviews (does this dude ever stop gaming and writing?) along with a nitpicker's review of Prototype, the end of a lover affair with Lara Croft, a look at indie games on Xbox Live, and a retro review of an adventure game many may have overlooked.

More Fun Than a Rocket Launcher to the Posterior ('Splosion Man Review)
By Brian Shirk
The Summer of Arcade brought some great titles to the Xbox 360. 'Splosion Man, writes Brian, is the best of the four games -- and he writes that it's also one of the best platformers that he's played in years.

Brian didn't stop with 'Splosion Man.

Can Tiger's Magic Wand Win Over A Sports Loathing Gamer? (Tiger Woods 2010 Wii Review)
Golf sims -- and sports games in general -- apparently aren't Brian's thing. But he enjoyed the Wii version of Tiger Woods PGA 2010 -- even if the look doesn't match the gameplay.

If Samus Was To Ever Have A Baby, This Would Be It (Shadow Complex Review)
Brian says that Shadow Complex appeals to just about any gamer -- it gives you that nonlinear exploration with many secrets that some gamers love while also offering a more direct path for those who'd rather focus on the game than every little secret.

The Original 3D Fighter Makes Its First Online Appearance (Virtua Fighter 5 Xbox360 Review)
The lack of an online community makes this fighter one to avoid despite its deep fighting system and more realistic approach to the genre.

An overly judgmental gamer complains about: Prototype!
By Jeffrey Sandlin
Jeffrey turns his nitpicking attentions toward one of the summer's biggest games: Prototype. Like many, Jeffrey finds a lot of fun in the game's action. It's the story -- specifically, the ending -- and some of the enemies where Jeffrey begins to get judgmental.

Tomb Raider: Underworld and Why I Want to Be an Archeologist
By Adam Dorsey
"It's not you, Lara. It's me." That's the tenor of Adam's review of Tomb Raider: Underworld, the most recent Lara Croft outing. It seems that Adam's long love affair with the ass-kicking archeologist has finally come to an end. (Plus the autosave didn't seem to work properly.)

XBLI Trial Rundown - 8/21/09
By Joe Donato
Joe plays through Xbox Live indie games each week for the Bitmob community. This week, he gives raves to Ninja Train, a short game focusing on, well, ninjas, all seen from the prospective or a person on a train.

Retroview: Beneath a Steel Sky
By James Thornhill
James recommends Beneath a Steel Sky to those that enjoyed the The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition or other classic adventures games recently released by LucasArts over Steam. Beneath a Steel Sky takes place in a dystopian future in the Australian Outback. Your character's out for revenge and answers after watching security forces kill his tribe and attempt take him to one of the few cities left in Australia.
